Nissan back to front in test

Nissan have bounced back after a disappointing weekend at Donington to top the test times at Thruxton

David Leslie set fastest time and managed to completed two sprint-race distances.

'We had no problems, I did more laps than anybody else,' he said.

The Scot also outpaced reigning champion Rickard Rydell by just 0.2s. 'We needed to get back on the pace before the next round at Silverstone and this is a good way to start,' said the Swede

Alain Menu was third quickest, but his Ford Mondeo was 0.7s slower than Leslie. The Swiss driver had a crash at over 100mph.

Team mate Anthony Reid went off as well, spinning in the fifth gear
Goodwood corner. 'I was doing over 100mph, but I didn't actually leave the circuit,' he said.

Renault continued its promising form, Jason Plato finishing fourth
quickest while first round winner James Thompson of Honda could manage no better than seventh.

Independent Matt Neal was down in eighth place after set-up changes proved fruitless, 'We're not too distressed,' said the Team Dynamics driver.
