McMillan forced to miss Croft
Liam McMillan will miss this weekend's British Touring Car Championship round at Croft after his Maxtreme squad failed to get his SEAT Toledo ready in time
Maxtreme missed the last round at Oulton Park after three of its engines were impounded by ORECA due to a political issue between the French tuning specialist and BTC Racing, which used to own the units.
With none of the engines having been rebuilt when Maxtreme collected them last week, the team was unable to ready them in time for this weekend.
"I'm absolutely gutted to be missing the BTCC race weekend at Croft, but we've done everything we possibly could to be there," McMillan said.
"What's stopped us is completely outside our control. We collected our engine parts and started to sort the big jigsaw puzzle out and it was only a day later that we discovered that all the parts had not been returned, as we had been led to believe.
"Getting parts manufactured is not a problem, but some crucial components will take a week to ten days to manufacture and that's too late for Croft."
