Brands Hatch GP to return in 2009

Next year's British Touring Car Championship calendar has been unveiled, with the return of the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit the only major change

The series will again be run over 10 rounds, as confirmed earlier this month, with the legendary kent circuit hosting the season-opener on the Indy circuit and then the final round on the GP loop.

"As is now traditional, our 10 meeting calendar travels the length and breadth of the country from Knockhill in Scotland to Thruxton in the South of England," said BTCC series director Alan Gow.

"As ever, fans in the Midlands are well catered for with rounds at Donington Park, Silverstone and Rockingham while visits to Oulton Park in the North West, Croft in the North East and Snetterton in Norfolk are well-established favourites with spectators, teams, drivers and sponsors.

"I'm particularly pleased to confirm the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit - already it promises to be a fitting finale for what is certain to be yet another season of unpredictable, dramatic and exhilarating competition."

The other changes of note to the calendar are that the Rockingham round moves from April to September and the Oulton Park meeting will switch from July to May.
