Aiello makes it a double

It was a double top for Nissan as Laurent Aiello and David Leslie repeated their morning's performances to win pole for tonight's Sprint Race at Snetterton

First out in qualifying was Mark Blair (Vauxhall) who had not set a time for the Feature Race because of a gearbox problem last night.

Paul Cook (Honda) set a fairly quick time and improved on her morning time beating Blair and Lee Brookes was not able to better this in the other private Honda.

First of the works cars to go out was John Cleland (Vauxhall) he improved on his grid position for 11th but was slower than in the morning.

Ford's Anthony Reid provided the first incident of the session. He had a good first half of his lap but entered the Esses too quickly, lost the backend, and spun onto the infield spraying gravel all over the track. He continued but set a poor time to be last on the grid.

Jean-Christophe Boullion (Renault) was out on the track and started his flying lap, he came round and took to the grass to avoid the gravel. The officials called him in to try again later when the track was clear.

Matt Neal was pushed back down the pit lane while the track was swept. After a while Yvan Muller appeared, and as expected was the fastest so far but slower than his morning time.

Plato (Renault) and Radermecker (Volvo) joined the session and went faster. Then Alain Menu was next and was spectacular doing a four wheel drift through the Esses but overdid it running wide through Russell and finishing14th.

Peter Kox was not happy as he arrived late at the pit exit with the Union Flag already out for Menu to start his flying lap.

He was not allowed to start and will be at the back of the grid.
