Jordan rejoins family team for 2010
Andrew Jordan will return to his father Mike's team for next year's British Touring Car Championship
Jordan, 20, will drive a 2008-spec Vauxhall Vectra similar to the one he raced for the works squad this season, after JordanSport purchased the car from Triple 8 Engineering last week. The car will be run under the Team Pirtek banner.
"I'm really looking forward to the challenge of next season," said the younger Jordan. "It's good for me to be continuing with the Vectra, I always felt it was a strong, great handling car and I had some good outings in it last season."
Jordan confirmed that the car will be the first to run the new turbocharged TOCA engine that is available to all teams next season, rather than the Sodemo units that were fitted to the works Vectras this year.
"At times we struggled with the engine power, so now with the new TOCA engine not only will it be cost effective to run but I'm confident we should be capable of winning," he said.
His father Mike, whose former team Eurotech ran both himself and Andrew between 2005 and 2008, said that the squad would not expand beyond one car. Adam Hardy and Jack Brady, who engineered the Vectra last year for the Vauxhall works team, will do so again.
"It is a good feeling to be back involved with a car and our own team in the BTCC with Pirtek's support," said Mike Jordan.
"The package of the Vectra and the TOCA engine should be very strong and I'm sure Andrew can use his knowledge of the car to great advantage. The team will also have a level of continuity as several personnel have been carried over from working with Andrew on the Vectra at VX Racing last season."
The definitive livery of the car will be unveiled at Autosport International in January.
