Thruxton BTCC: Andrew Jordan leads all-Honda practice top three
Andrew Jordan topped British Touring Car practice at Thruxton, leading a Eurotech Honda one-two
Sam Tordoff's MG set the pace before a red flag, caused when Matt Neal's works Honda Civic stopped with an apparent electrical issue, but Jordan moved to the top shortly after the restart.
Jordan was the only man to lap in under 1m18s and set several times good enough to go fastest.
He then suffered a puncture and driveshaft damage, but still ended the session over 0.4 seconds clear of team-mate Jeff Smith.
Jordan, who currently lies second in the standings, believes there is more to come.
"We tried some stuff on the car since testing but it's not very good so we'll change back," he said.
Behind Eurotech, Neal bounced back from his earlier problem to end up third and complete a Civic 1-2-3, despite the car being the only NGTC model not to receive an increase in turbo boost for this round.
Adam Morgan continued his fine recent form in Ciceley Racing's Toyota with fourth, while Jason Plato managed a time good enough for fifth before he too picked up a puncture.
Tom Onslow-Cole again demonstrated the potential of Team Hard's new VW Passat with sixth, just ahead of Tordoff and the WSR BMW of Colin Turkington.
Three drivers battled it out for S2000 honours, with Liam Griffin's Motorbase Ford Focus ending up quickest in 19th overall.
In the rain-affected first session, S2000 frontrunner Lea Wood set the overall pace early on before Frank Wrathall, Ollie Jackson and Tordoff pushed him down the order.
Tordoff ended up fastest, from Jackson and Wrathall, with Wood the top S2000 as many drivers elected not to push for a time.
Gordon Shedden, who won twice at Thruxton on his way to the 2012 title, struggled and ended up 13th.
