British GT4 champions graduate to top class with Optimum McLaren for 2026

The reigning British GT4 champions Jack Brown and Marc Warren will graduate to the championship’s top class in 2026 aboard an Optimum Motorsport McLaren 720S.  

This will be both of their debuts in British GT’s GT3 category, competing as a Silver-Am entry alongside the squad they clinched last year’s GT4 title with at the Donington Park finale. 

It came after a year-long battle with Century BMW pair Charlie Robertson and Ravi Ramyead; between them, they won every race bar Brands Hatch where the sister Optimum McLaren Artura of Harry George and Luca Hopkinson triumphed instead. 

Brown therefore became the first double GT4 champion, having won in 2024 with Zac Meakin, and he sees this year as the perfect time to make the jump having formed a great partnership with Warren.

“I’m delighted to be returning to the British GT Championship with Optimum Motorsport for the 2026 season,” said Brown, who last year also claimed the all-time GT4 wins record with 12 after making his debut in 2021. 

“Marc and I enjoyed a very strong year together last season, and moving up to GT3 feels like the natural next step for us. We’re both excited to take on a new challenge and continue learning as we head into the 2026 season.”

Warren had established himself as one of GT4’s top amateurs since his debut in 2024, where he came fourth with William Orton at Forsetti Aston Martin before moving to Optimum.

“Absolutely buzzing to move up to GT3 this year with Jack and Optimum Motorsport,” he said.

“I'm itching to get out in the car and feel the speed. It’s a big step for us and we’re going up against a lot of experienced GT3 drivers so our primary concern is winning Silver-Am. We’ll be delighted if we can contend for overall results.” 

Kiern Jewiss and Charles Dawson (2 Seas Motorsport) are the reigning series champions ahead of the eight-round 2026 campaign, which starts at Silverstone on 25-26 April.

There are now eight cars confirmed across both categories. In GT3, there is also Marcus Clutton and Simon Orange (Orange Racing McLaren), plus Ross Gunn and Andrew Howard (Beechdean Aston Martin), as well as the series debut of Rodin Motorsport who will enter a Ferrari 296 Evo but with its drivers yet to be revealed. 

GT4 also has four cars currently confirmed, as GBR Stratton Motorsport is entering two Aston Martin Vantages, likewise with Full Send Racing which is the only team to have announced a driver in Darren Turner.
