Weekend review and results round-up

A brilliant performance at Monza this weekend put Rob Huff firmly in the driving seat in this year's World Touring Car title chase

Resisting huge - and sometimes physical - pressure from his multiple-title-winning Chevrolet team-mates Alain Menu and Yvan Muller for two victories took Huff's 2011 tally to four wins from six races, and having taken pole in every qualifying session too and established an early 36-point championship lead, the Briton is looking hard to beat.

There was another milestone for a rising touring car star in the DTM's Zandvoort round, as Mike Rockenfeller grabbed his maiden win in only his second race in a top-line Audi.

MotoGP was this weekend's other headline event, and while Casey Stoner got his title challenge back on track with a win in France, the major talking point was a clash between the much-criticised Marco Simoncelli and Dani Pedrosa, which left the latter with a broken collarbone.

In single-seaters, teenage sensation Kevin Korjus starred again in Monza's first Formula Renault 3.5 race, before Red Bull juniors Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne battled it out in race two - the former winning as the latter was penalised.
