Wittmann takes first win of 2011
Marco Wittmann took his and the Signature team's first F3 Euro Series victory of the year after leading the whole of race three at Zandvoort
Starting from pole position, Wittmann covered off an attempted passing move by Felix Rosenqvist into Tarzan on the opening lap, and steadily increased the gap over the Swede to come home the victor by 1.3 seconds.
The closest Rosenqvist came to assuming the lead was on lap two. Having been squeezed against the pitwall by Wittmann, the Swede switched to the outside and drew alongside his rival, but was unable to pass at Tarzan.
Rosenqvist remained within touching distance of Wittmann for the rest of the race, but could not get close enough to attempt another pass.
Race one winner Nigel Melker made it two Mucke cars on the podium, but was unable to challenge Rosenqvist after running wide at Kumhobocht on lap five and putting all four wheels onto the dusty grass.
After starting seventh, Prema driver Roberto Merhi went around the outside of Laurens Vanthoor for fourth at Tarzan on lap five, and finished there to consolidate his championship lead, which now stands at a slightly-reduced 23 points over Wittmann.
Daniel Abt and Vanthoor made it three Signature drivers in the top six, ahead of Jimmy Eriksson's Motopark car.
