Red Bull Racing's decision to switch the new design front wing from Mark Webber to Sebastian Vettel's car before qualifying would come to dominate the 2010 British Grand Prix weekend, and even when Webber responded by taking a brilliant victory, the bad feeling over the incident still lingered.
Before that, the focus had been on McLaren's decision to abandon its hurriedly-introduced exhaust-blown diffuser for the weekend after a troubled time in practice, and on Bruno Senna's shock one-race ousting from the Hispania line-up.
The revised track was in the spotlight too, with drivers not too impressed in practice, but perhaps more enamoured by the end of a race that saw plenty of overtaking.
Away from Formula 1, Sebastien Loeb and Citroen were a class apart as the World Rally Championship came to Bulgaria for the first time, and Pastor Maldonado cemented his position as GP2 title favourite with a feature race win at Silverstone.
