Qualifying: Garcia surprises with pole

Spanish rookie Antonio Garcia claimed a surprise pole position in qualifying for the European Touring Car Championship at Brno in the Czech Republic, heading a sweep of the top four positions for BMW

The Ravaglia Motorsport driver lapped the circuit in 2m11.620s, outpacing Dirk Muller by 0.162s, lapping over 1.5s than last year's pole time in the process.

Briton Andy Priaulx set the third fastest time, with Fabrizio Giovanardi fourth to complete BMW's sweep of the front two rows for the race. Nicola Larini was the fastest Alfa Romeo runner, and will line up fifth.

Jorg Muller and Gabriele Tarquini, who are currently tied for the lead of the championship, will start sixth and seventh respectively, with Seat driver Jordi Gene eighth.
