Home clean-sweep for BMW

Jorg Muller made it a BMW clean-sweep at their home World Touring Car Championship round in Germany by dominating the second race at Oschersleben

Muller got the better of polesitter Peter Terting at the start and, like teammate Priaulx in today's earlier race, dominated the race from lights to flag.

Muller's only real challenge came from the Alfa Romeo of August Farfus Jr in the early part of the race. The Brazilian looked as if he would have the pace to challenge Muller as the race progressed, however as his tyres went away he gradually dropped back and was 1.4 seconds behind at the line. It was Muller's first win of the season.

"I'm very happy at the end of this one," Muller said. "I changed some springs in between the two races and my car felt much better in the second race. Augusto caught me up and was on my bumper early, but his tyres went off and my car was consistent throughout the race. But I'm always worried if Augusto is somewhere around me!"

Farfus Jr held off race one runner-up Dirk Muller, who made a lightning start from seventh on the grid to be third at the end of the first complex of corners. Muller was unable to pass Farfus and had to settle for third.

Terting led home a train of five SEAT Leons. The German beat home Rickard Rydell, James Thompson, Gabriele Tarquini and Yvan Muller.

Muller's point moved him back into the joint championship lead with Priaulx.

The title battle remains just as tight behind, with six drivers covered by just two points after eight races.

Brands Hatch winner Alain Menu had a frightening accident on the third lap. Menu went off at high speed straight into the barriers. Fortunately his Lacetti went into the barriers rear first and the Swiss driver walked away unharmed.
