Arabadzhiev gets Chevy WTCC test

Bulgarian driver Vladimir Arabadzhiev has tested for the factory Chevrolet World Touring Car team as part of a collaboration between the WTCC and the International Formula Master series

IFM races on the same bill as the WTCC, and the works touring car teams have been encouraged to offer test opportunities to drivers from the single-seater championship.

As part of this agreement Arabadzhiev, who finished seventh in IFM this year, tested for a day at Pembrey alongside leading Chevy driver Rob Huff this week.

Team boss Eric Neve thinks the cooperation between the WTCC and IFM has a lot of potential.

"One of the good things about the WTCC sharing racing weekends with the International Formula Master Series is the possibility to cooperate and to organise test sessions with drivers from the IFM, which allow us to look at young talents coming from single seaters and allow a new generation of drivers to look for opportunities in the touring car scene," he said.

"We are delighted to have Vladimir Arabadzhiev, a promising driver from one of the emerging European countries in motorsports, as the first IMF driver testing a Chevrolet and we are very satisfied with the extremely professional job he did."
