SS11B Molini 2: Loeb doubles up

While some could argue his first WRC stage was, in the main, down to the misfortune of others, on SS11B, the Frenchman was in a class of his own, completing the 25.29km stage in 16m43.7s, seven seconds faster than second-placed man Marcus Gronholm.

Loeb has a little breathing space in the battle for second overall - he's now seven seconds clear of his compatriot Didier Auriol in the Peugeot, who was third fastest in Molini.

Petter Solberg's Subaru was fourth quickest, ahead of Gilles Panizzi in the Peugeot. Heading into the last stage of the day, Panizzi is 33 seconds clear on Leob and, barring any mishaps on SS12, should have a comfortable lead for the final four stages on Sunday.

Renato Travaglia was sixth fastest and the Italian is threatening to make it all-French cars in the top five overall again. His Peugeot 206 is just over a second behind fifth-placed Carlos Sainz on the leaderboard. The Ford driver endured a tough Molina, finishing over 20 seconds behind Loeb's pace after his Focus WRC suffered break problems on the day's longest stage. He ended up 10th fastest

The Spaniard's team mate Francois Delecour was seventh quickest followed by championship leaders Tommi Makinen and Colin McRae.
