(Peugeot) - second, +33.7s: "I lost the brakes in the middle of the last stage." (Due to a fluid problem).

(Peugeot) - third, +1m36.8s: "It's very important for Peugeot to take some points. I'm driving fast, but I'm staying in the middle of the road and I'm not taking any big cuts."

(Subaru) - fourth, +3m27.5: "The first part of the stage was quite wet and I had a spin in a hairpin left. I didn't push too much because I didn't want to ruin my soft tyres." On the possibility of team orders being imposed to allow his team mate Richard Burns through, the Norwegian said: "Maybe it will happen, but I hope not because this would be a good result for me."

(Subaru) - fifth, +4m42.5s: "I had a brake problem which meant the car was pulling to one side. We fixed it a bit between the two stages, but it still wasn't perfect." The Estonian pushed too hard too early after thinking he was closer to the end of the stage than he was and ended up ruining his tyres. He too could be asked to cede to Burns. He said: "I'm not worried about that, I'm just doing my own rally."

(Subaru) sixth, +4m53.8s: "I'm much happier with the set-up today. We changed the suspension and now the grip is better and more progressive. I'll let George Donaldson and David Lapworth [Subaru's team manager and sporting director] decide about team orders."

(Ford) - seventh, +6m07.5s: "I lost the brakes after 10km on the first stage and then we had a puncture as well. I had to do all of the second stage with no brakes and it was very difficult."

(Ford) 12th, +7m23.7s "I wouldn't be sorry if this stopped now. If Richard [Burns] keeps going like he is, then he's going to score some points. It hasn't been the best for me."
