Service H - Imperia: Panizzi overjoyed
Gilles Panizzi (Peugeot), rally leader: "It has been a magnificent day. Didier [Auriol] and Sebastien [Loeb] are still fighting for second so they are going quite quickly. I have to keep pushing as a result."
(Citroen) - second, +34.5s: "I'm happy to have set some fastest times. I'm more confident in the car that when I started."
(Peugeot) - fourth, +1m10.5s: "If we hadn't lost that 20 seconds when I went off we could have been pushing Didier. As it is, all we can do is try to keep the others behind us."
(Ford) - fifth, +1m36.4s: "I lost the brakes at the start of the long stage, but then they came back. I don't know why. In the last stage, my right-front tyre blistered and I had bad understeer."
(Subaru) - eighth, +2m53.3s: "In the long stage we had a lotof wear on the front tyres, so we swapped them with the rears. Then two corners into the last stage we slid wide, hit a rock and broke the right rear lateral link. It's a shame because we had been setting some good times."
(Ford) - 10th, +3m27.0s: "The car seems fine now but the package isn't strong enough [for asphalt]. All we can do is stay in front of Tommi." He also noted that the spectator control is getting worse.
