Ogier: No regrets despite crash
Citroen Junior Team driver Sebastien Ogier says he has no regrets about his decision to try and beat Sebastien Loeb on the Catalunya Rally - despite the fact that he crashed on the day's second test
Ogier's accident dropped him from second place after the day's opening test, just 8.2 seconds behind Loeb, to 17th after the third stage - and 17 minutes behind the world champion. But Ogier remained adamant his tactic of pushing to end Loeb's Catalunya Rally-winning run was the right decision this morning.
"I don't at all regret having pushed hard in the morning," said Ogier. "I wanted to try and keep up with Sebastien Loeb's pace on asphalt. We were fighting with him and our split times were very good.
"What happened was a pity as we will lose some World Rally Championship points but I always prefer to attack even if it means taking a few risks sometimes.
"Tomorrow, we need to continue to drive with the objective of taking 2.5 seconds per kilometre off the driver currently classified 10th. We'll see after the first run through the long stage if this goal is a realistic one or not."
