Leading positions after First Leg
Francois Delecour won the eighth and final stage of the day to put an end to the domination of the Subaru pair of Richard Burns and Juha Kankkunen
Kankkunen was second, while Burns was four seconds behind in fourth place, and will go into Leg Two tomorrow as overall leader.
Delecour's win was the first for the Peugeot team since the first stage when Marcus Gronholm won. It will keep the Frenchman in the top 10 after Leg One, a great result for the Peugeot team which is racing its 206 for the first time this year.
Meanwhile, Harri Rovanpera, in the SEAT team, has retired because of an accident.
Current leading positions in Stage Eight
Delecour, Kankkunen, Liatti, Burns, McRae, Schwarz, Loix, Makinen, Sainz, Kirkos
