Citroen call for running order change
World Rally Champion Sebastien Loeb and his Citroen team principal Olivier Quesnel have both asked the FIA to change the running order system next season
Last year, the top 15 was reseeded at the end of the day one, with the 15th fastest car running first and the fastest running 15th.
This system was introduced to stop the drivers slowing down and the teams taking a tactical approach to attempt to place their drivers in a more favourable position in the running order, something seen often this year.
Loeb and Quesnel are eager to see a return of this system for next year.
"The way it is, it's stupid," said Quesnel. "It has to be changed for next year. I have asked officially for [the FIA] to do this."
Loeb added: "Maybe it's important to find another regulation, to have some good fights and not only talk about tactics and [the road] cleaning. For people who are not real rally fans it's difficult to understand, why it is always a question of tactic.
"It don't think it's a good way. The regulation, for me, last year was really good. It was tough for the championship leader on day one [when they ran first on the road], but then it was really close and interesting for the next two days."
