'A Perfect Rally' for Loeb
Sebastien Loeb described the Rally Deutschland, his eighth win of the season, as the 'prefect rally'
Loeb has won all four Rally Deutschland since the event was installed on the WRC calendar.
The Frenchman and his Citroen teammate Francois Duval dominated the event. The Citroen pair were told to moderate their pace early on the second leg to protect their manufacturers' Championship chances, after they fought hard for the lead on the opening leg.
"It was definitely a perfect rally," Loeb said. "But it was not easy at the start. I fought very hard with Francois as he was driving very fast. We gave everything. Francois lost time on two stages and so we could extend our lead up to 15 seconds.
"After this, finishing and avoiding mistakes was more important for us than anything else, but it was a really big fight between the two of us right from the start. It was not so easy.
"After the second day we stopped battling with Francois, because it was very important to finish. The weather conditions were better than the year before, so it was easier than last year."
