Solberg talks up Ford's chances of victory on Rally Argentina

Petter Solberg has talked up the Ford World Rally Team's chances of success on this week's Rally Argentina - the Norwegian says he is convinced he can beat the Citroens in South America

Solberg was on course for his first win since 2005 on the Rally of Portugal earlier this month, only to slip off the road in the treacherous conditions.

The 2003 world champion has put that disappointment behind him and is focused on over- turning the four-point deficit between himself and World Rally Championship leader Sebastien Loeb.

"We can take them [Citroen], I know we can," said Solberg. "I feel the confidence in the team and the way the car is running it just unbelievable. This is a very, very fast rally car - trust me."

Solberg admitted the loss of Jari-Matti Latvala was a blow to the team, but he is confident Dani Sordo will do a good job for the team.

"First off, we have to make the points for the manufacturers championship and I'm sure Dani will be very good for that," said Solberg.

"But we have to be aiming higher and higher and higher, we have to believe in what we've got - because what we have got is very strong. We want both cars on the podium on Sunday and we want them in one and two."
