Turner worries about rain at night
GT1 class leader Darren Turner is concerned about the possibility of rain in the night during the Le Mans 24 Hours
The Briton, who shares the No.009 Aston Martin with Antonio Garcia and David Brabham, said that if it rains he hopes it will be in showers rather than the torrential downpour that so badly affected the 2007 race.
"Great, rain in the dark!" Turner told autosport.com. "The worst possible combination. It's okay if it's a little shower, but if it rains like it did at the end of last year's race then it could be bad.
"The problem is that when it rains like that at night, you can't even see the puddles coming. And obviously that is dangerous."
Before handing over to Garcia, Turner's teammate Brabham lost ground to the chasing factory Corvette of Johnny O'Connell, and the Briton revealed that he thought the Australian may have overshot one of the chicanes during his stint.
"I don't know why we lost so much ground, but someone said Brabham missed the chicane," Turner said. "I did the same thing, and it costs you five seconds to get yourself back on track.
"The other thing is the traffic. I had a couple of bad laps and then I was lucky, but Brabs could easily have had a whole stint like that."
