Pescarolo: We Can Go Faster

Pescarolo Sport believe both of their front-row starting cars could have gone even quicker in qualifying for the Le Mans 24 Hours

Emmanuel Collard secured pole position for the French team alongside the sister C60, qualified by Soheil Ayari. The pair were more than two seconds faster than their rivals led by the Audi of Emanuele Pirro.

Team owner Henri Pescarolo believes they could have gone quicker if both cars hadn't hit traffic on their qualifying runs.

Pescarolo told Autosport-Atlas: "I know we will be even faster in the race because we missed our best laps. Both of the car's qualifying runs were ruined with traffic. We had qualifying tyres on but we couldn't make use of them. The times set were on regular tyres.

"I'm very pleased to be on the front row but really it is not too important. What is important is that we are quick for the race because it will be very different. We will have to be faster, because the Audi's will spend less time in the pits than us."
