Mowlem to share lead Dyson Racing Lola-Mazda in this year's American Le Mans Series
British sportscar regular Johnny Mowlem will return to the prototype ranks with Dyson Racing in this year's American Le Mans Series
The 43-year-old, who is also continuing in his role as test and development driver with Lotus, will contest the four remaining ALMS enduros. He will share the lead Dyson Lola-Mazda B12/60 LMP1 coupe with reigning ALMS champions Guy Smith and team boss Chris Dyson.
Mowlem, who has already tested the team's car on two occasions at Sebring, will race for the first time in the six-hour race at Laguna Seca next month.
His programme will continue with the four-hour events at Road America and the Virginia International Raceway and then the 1000-mile Petit Le Mans enduro at Road Atlanta.
Mowlem, whose prototype credentials include finishing second at Petit at the wheel of a works Zytek LMP1 in 2006, said: "I'm delighted to be back racing an LMP1, especially with a championship-winning team. I'm over the moon."
Team boss Chris Dyson said: "We were looking for someone who could support our championship defence and bolster our development efforts as we look to continue our success through 2012 and beyond. Johnny fits the bill perfectly."
Mowlem is also contesting the GT Open with a Lotus Evora GTE jointly run by the factory and Scuderia Guidici.
