23:00 (CET) - Le Mans 24hrs after seven hours
The lead changed briefly at Le Mans after BMW pitted to change tyres and drivers. Jorg Muller took over from Tom Kristensen and took the car back out in second place.
The Toyota number two moved up into the lead briefly in the hands of Ralf Kelleners, before it too pitted to let Allan McNish take over, letting BMW re-take the lead.
22:35 Martin Brundle is out of this year's Le Mans 24 hours after a spin at the end of the Mulsanne straight.
The Toyota driver, who had declared that he would win this year's event after qualifying on pole, crashed through the tyre barriers and came to a halt with what appeared to be a collapsed rear suspension.
The former Formula 1 driver headed back to the pits shedding sparks and debris as it dragged its rear end along the circuit before coming to a halt.
22: 25 As darkness begins to fall BMW and Toyota are continuing their battle at the front of the field with the No 17 BMW leading the No 2 Toyota.
22:20 (CET) Peter Dumbreck has had a full medical check and is suffering no major injuries.
The Mercedes driver is said to be bruised and shaken by his accident ut is otherwise unhurt despite flipping his Mercedes three times and landing 50 yards into the forest.

Rain has been forecast. A low of 6 degrees centigrade is expected overnight with a high of 26 degrees tommorrow.
22:15 (CET)Tom Kristensen has recorded BMW's fastest lap of the day to maintain his 33s lead at Le Mans.
The Dane set a time of 3.38.196 to consolidate his lead ahead of Toyota's Thierry Boutsen.
BMW's car 15 lies in third, ahead of Eric Comas in the Nissan and the charging Ukyo Katayama in the Toyota GT-One car.
Katayama moved into sixth after setting his fastest time of the event.
