H3: Kristensen leads as race resumes

The yellow flags were brought out in the second hour while marshals repaired damage to the barriers caused by Mike Rockenfeller's crash, but after a long delay the green flags were finally waved at 5:43 pm local time.

The Peugeot of Pedro Lamy is second ahead of Emanuele Pirro's Audi and the petrol-driven No. 16 Pescarolo, which now has Jean-Christophe Boullion at the wheel.

Marc Gene had been running third in the No. 7 Peugeot but lost two places on a single lap while struggling with a set of exhausted wets.

Accordingly, the Spaniard stopped for some fresh tyres just as the third hour was coming to an end, but the car is now a lap down on the leaders.

Warren Hughes has a gigantic lead in the LMP2 class in the Quifel Lola, and Darren Turner's Aston Martin is still being chased by the Corvette of Jan Magnussen in GT1.

Things are rather less close in GT2, where Autorlando's Allan Simonsen has a lead of more than two minutes over Mika Salo in the Risi Competizione Ferrari F430 GT.

The track remains damp from heavy rain earlier in the hour, although the skies have since cleared - for now.
