H13: Audi lead as dawn breaks

Emanuele Pirro continues to lead the Le Mans 24 Hours for Audi as dawn breaks at La Sarthe after 13 hours of racing

The Italian, who shares the No.8 Audi R10 TDI with Frank Biela and Marco Werner, all of whom are former winners, now command a two-lap lead over the No.17 Pescarolo currently being driven by Frenchman Eric Helary.

And with the diesel-powered Audis not showing the bullet-proof reliability of the preceding R8, the remaining competitive Pescarolo is still within striking distance should Pirro encounter anymore gearbox problems.

Pedro Lamy moved up to fourth in the factory Aston Martin with the demise of the Racing for Holland Dome.

The Portuguese may be a lap ahead of the No.64 Corvette of Olivier Beretta in the GT1 category, but Lamy isn't hanging around, setting lap record pace in the DBR9.

The No.25 RML MG Lola still leads in LMP2 with Thomas Erdos at the wheel, while the No.83 Seikel Motorsports Porsche continues to keep the Spyker at bay in GT2.
