G-Force Granted Reprieve

G-Force Racing have been granted special dispensation by Le Mans organisers to compete in this year's race, despite falling outside the 115 per cent qualifying limit

The number 35 Courage C65 driven by Val Hillebrand, Franck Hahn and Gavin Pickering sustained heavy damage in Wednesday's wet qualifying session, and the car did not complete a lap in the dry, faster qualifying session yesterday.

However, the ACO have allowed the car to race from the back of the grid after 'force majoure' affected their qualifying pace.

Team boss Germain Liebens told Autosport-Atlas: "I was a bit worried yesterday but we were able to show to the ACO that we were still on the pace in the wet qualifying session and during the test day.

"It doesn't matter we are at the back. Within two hours we will be where we should be.

"The mechanics are doing a superb job to repair the car, but they have spent so long working for them it will be the 68 Hours of Le Mans. The warm up tomorrow is now crucial for us."
