17h19m Wurz in third place closes in still further and is just 2.3s behind the leading pair. This is fantastic stuff.
17h20m They work through lapped traffic at the Mulsanne chicane and the battle continues, with the top three and Sarrazin's lapped #8 Peugeot all covered by three seconds.
17h22m Oh dear. The #81 Flying Lizard Motorsports car - second in GTE Am - has stopped at the side of the circuit.
17h22m The top two are almost touching as they come through the Ford chicane to complete yet another lap.
17h23m The gap over the line is timed at 0.7s with Wurz 2.7s behind them.
17h23m Three marshals have arrived to push the #81 Flying Lizard Motorsport Porsche away from the racetrack.
17h24m Sarrazin gets past Treluyer and unlaps himself from the #2 Audi. However, he is still one lap down overall, with the leading #9 car just ahead of him.
17h26m They lap the #50 Larbre Competition Corvette. Pagenaud gets through without problem, but Treluyer and Sarrazin split poor Gardel and the Audi sneaks past the #8 Peugeot to put a lap on it once again.
17h27m Pagenaud in the leading #9 Peugeot has eased away to a two second lead as we see a spin for the #36 RML entry.
17h29m A sad end for the Flying Lizard Motorsports #81 entry. The team has abandoned after providing great entainment throughout the night, fighting against the Larbre Competition cars in GTE Am.
17h30m Mike Newton pits the #36 RML following that spin one lap ago. He rejoins the race.
17h32m Pagenaud slows briefly and that allows Treluyer to get a run on him down the Mulsanne ... the move sticks into the chicane and Audi #2 leads at Le Mans!
17h33m Treluyer immediately makes a dash for it and opens up a 1.4s lead over Pagenaud in the #9 Peugeot. Alex Wurz is now 5.7s back from the leader in third place.
17h33m Stephane Sarrazin is still with the group in fourth but exactly one lap down in the #8 Peugeot.
17h36m The #41 Greaves Motorsport entry is ninth overall and leading the LMP2 category, with a four lap gap back to the #26 Sigmatech machine.
17h37m In GTE Pro following the demise of the #74 Corvette, the #51 AF Corse Ferrari now leads by two laps over the #73 Corvette. BMW #55 is third, currently in the hands of Dirk Werner.
17h39m Larbre Competition holds first and second in GTE Am. The #50 Corvette leads with the #70 Porsche one lap back. JMB Racing is third but the #83 car is some six laps back.
17h40m Benoit Treluyer crosses the line with a 2.7 second lead in the #2 Audi over Simon Pagenaud in Peugeot #9.
17h41m Alex Wurz is third in the #7 Peugeot and has slipped - slipped we say after close on 18 hours of racing - to 9.1 seconds behind the leader.
17h42m Pitstops are due for the leaders at the end of this lap. The top three cars last stopped during that recent safety car period.
17h43m Treluyer pits the leading #2 Audi, handing track position to the #9 Peugeot.
17h44m Treluyer remains at the controls and he leaves after taking on fuel only.
17h45m The #9 pitted also and like the Audi took on fuel only. Pagenaud rolled back into the fight a few seconds behind Treluyer.
17h46m So now Alex Wurz takes over the lead in the #7 Peugeot., as we wait for his stop.
17h46m Peugeot is ready to receive Wurz this time by.
17h47m The #8 comes in rather than the #7 and Sarrazin gets regular service and heads back out.
17h48m Wurz elects to stay out and continues on with a slight lead. Meantime, behind him on the road, the #2 Audi rejoined with a nine second gap over the #9 Peugeot.
17h50m Wurz hurtles through the Porsche Curves and we wait to see if he comes in at the end of the lap ...
17h50m Yes, the Austrian is in this time. Wurz hits his marks and stays in the car.
17h51m The #2 and the #9 are coming round the final chicane and both pass the #7 as Wurz gets going.
17h51m Benoit Treluyer retakes the lead for Audi and the chase continues for the two Peugeot drivers.
17h53m Car #8 has been given a one minute stop/go penalty.
17h55m Treluyer leads by 10 seconds over the #9 Peugeot with the #7 car now 23 seconds behind the leader.
17h56m The #16 Pescarolo has been wheeled into the garage. Christophe Tinseau is fifth and that car holds a three lap lead over the sixth placed Oreca Matmut #10 machine.
17h57m The #8 car has been given the one minute penalty because of a pitlane infringement.
17h58m Sarrazin answers the call and brings the #8 in to serve that penalty.
17h59m The top three race on, now covered by 23 seconds.
17h59m The 60 seconds is up and Sarrazin rolls down the pitlane and back onto the racetrack.
18h02m The #16 Pescarolo remains in the garage under repair and the #10 Team Oreca Matmut entry is catching up quickly. It will soon take over fifth place.
18h02m The repair is complete and the mechanics are quickly rushing to get #16 back out onto the circuit.
