9h19m The second placed #4 Team Oreca Matmut car has been into the pits - but crucially held at the exit of the pits as the officials wait for the next available safety car to pass by.
9h19m Nicolas Lapierre is finally released in the #4 Peugeot and he joins the queue of cars.
9h19m Work continues around the #60 Ford with mechanics all around the machine, which is in danger of losing the GT1 lead.
9h21m The #82 Risi Competizione Ferrari is back into the garage yet again as the team investigates more problems with the car.
9h23m While several cars are receiving attention in the pits, the safety car remains in control of the rest of the field.
9h25m The #60 Matech car is in serious trouble, with mechanics swarming all over the rear of the Ford GT in the garage.
9h26m Again we have a big accident straight after a restart. The #13 Rebellion Racing Lola has crashed heavily. Jean-Christophe Bouillion was in tenth position.
9h26m A clearly annoyed Bouillion hurls the steering wheel back into the cockpit of the Rebellion and slams the door shut.
9h27m The Frenchman is fine but the rear end of the #13 is badly damaged.
9h29m The delay to the #4 in the pits during the safety car period now manifests itself. The third placed #8 Audi is now on the same lap as the Oreca and there is just 79 seconds between them.
9h31m Allan McNish is in feisty mood on this restart. He is trying very hard to pull a lap back by attempting a move on Montagny in the leading Peugeot.
9h33m Timo Bernhard is now third in the #9 Audi with the #8 car in fourth, McNish fifth in the #7 Audi and Marc Gene is 70 seconds further back in sixth place in the #1 Peugeot.
9h34m Right up front the #2 Peugeot continues to lead with Franck Montagny at the controls, with the Team Oreca Matmut #4 Peugeot undoubtedly delayed in the safety car period but still in a solid second place.
9h36m The leading #2 Peugeot comes into the pits for routine service.
9h39m Our pit reporters tell us that the #60 GT1 Ford is in the garage due to a clash with an LMP1 car. It has now lost the lead to the #50 Saleen.
9h40m “A prototype pushed me wide at the entrance to the Ford chicane,” #60 driver Thomas Mutsch told AUTOSPORT. “I went off the track and then as I came back onto it, the #24 car hit me from behind.”
9h41m The #15 Kolles Audi pits from the ninth position. Oliver Jarvis takes on fuel and tyres and rejoins the action.
9h43m Franck Montagny handed over the leading #2 Peugeot to Stephane Sarrazin.
9h46m In GT2 the Corvettes are ruling the roost with the #64 leading marginally ahead of the #63 entry. The IMSA Performance Matmut Porsche #76 with Patrick Pilet at the wheel is third and the #95 AF Corse Ferrari with Jean Alesi still going at it is doing well in fourth place.
9h47m The #78 BMW is in for service with mechanics tweaking something at the rear. Unlike the retired art car, it continues to circulate without major drama in 28th overall.
9h50m The #7 Audi is into the pits and Allan McNish hands over to Tom Kristensen. The tyres are changed as well as a fresh tank of fuel, and the great Dane gets underway.
9h52m Prior to the #7 stop, the gap to the #1 Peugeot in sixth place had been just under one minute.
9h55m The #1 car now takes its turn in the pits as Marc Gene guides the 908 in. Gene immediately jumps out, handing over to Anthony Davidson. New tyres and a tank of fuel and Davidson is away to chase after the #7 Audi.
9h59m The #26 Highcroft HPD car is reported to be slow on the circuit with Marino Franchitti at the wheel. That car is currently second in LMP2.
9h59m Nicolas Lapierre is clocking quicker laptimes than the leading #2 Peugeot, driven by Stephane Sarrazin, as the Team Oreca #4 car has the gap to the leader down to just over 90 seconds.
9h59m The Highcroft car is mobile but appears to be crawling back with a puncture.
10h00m Timo Bernhard is also on a rapid pace in the third placed #9 Audi. The car is one lap down ... and now in the pits.
10h01m Bernhard stays in the car as takes fuel only. He rejoins after a quick stop.
10h01m It is a puncture for the #26 Highcroft car and the crew is waiting in the pitlane for Franchitti to make it back.
10h04m Franchitti pits the #26 and the car resumes on fresh rubber after that puncture.
10h07m The gap between the two leading Peugeots - the #2 factory car and the #4 Team Oreca car is hovering at around 95 seconds. The #9 Audi is one lap down in third with the #8 entry a further 64 seconds back in fourth.
10h08m The #4 Oreca has just been into the pits. Fuel only and Nicolas Lapierre roars back into the action, still in second place.
10h10m Down in the Matech Competition #60 pit, the repairs look close to being complete. The car has fallen way back to third place in the GT1 class, some ten laps down.
10h11m The #60 is wheeled back into pitlane and Thomas Mutsch rejoins the race.
10h13m The #008 Signature Plus Lola Aston Martin has been into the pits from 11th position, but is quickly back on track once again.
10h18m Anthony Davidson is quickly running into the 3m23s bracket in the #1 Peugeot. The gap between it and the fifth placed #7 Audi is down to only 38 seconds.
10h19m Right then, a quick recap of the LMP2 class - the #64 Strakka Racing HPD has a two lap advantage over the #26 Highcroft Racing HPD, with the #35 Pescarolo-Judd a further two laps behind
10h21m #77 Porsche 997 of the Team Felbermayr Proton into the pits - routine stop and they rejoin. The team were running third in class up until that stop
10h22m Confusion down in the Kolles pit as both entries come in together. The #14 is quickly ushered back out onto the circuit again.
