13h07m That #17 Peugeot had recently been in the pits for a clean-out of the radiators and a change of rear bodywork.

There is great concern as the fire engine and ambulance arrive with the crunched car at the Esses beyond the Dunlop Bridge.
13h06m The #1 Audi has been garaged during this safety car - likely for a clean-up of the air intakes.
13h05m A fire engine and ambulance are on their way to the scene of the accident. The marshals are already there and are being particularly careful at the moment, understandably.
13h04m There has been a huge accident involving the #17 Pescarolo Peugeot. The car is heavily damaged and as yet we see no movement from the driver - Benoit Treluyer.
13h01m As we approach the 13-hour mark, Peugeot are in command at the top of the standings. The #9 entry leads by one lap ahead of the sister #8 car. Marc Gene and Sebastien Bourdais are at the controls of the respective machines as they maintain their advantage.

Audi #1 is third, with Dindo Capello behind the wheel ahead of the #17 Pescarolo Peugeot - now back on track follow that recent stop. Aston Martin are holding onto fifth place in the form of the #007, driven currently by Jan Charouz, ahead of the #14 Kolles Audi and the #7 Peugeot, which we have talked about a lot during the race.
12h58m The #17 Pescarolo Peugeot has completed a clean-out and replacement of the rear bodywork.

Peugeot #7 is also back on the track but these are worrying issues for the 908 HDi cars - problems that could still strike the leading cars.
12h57m #31, the LMP2 leader, is in the pits for a driver change. They are now several laps ahead of Team Goh.

Emmanuel Collard has resumed in that car.
12h56m The #17 Pescarolo Peugeot comes into the pits, and is wheeled into the garage. No immediate danger for that team as they have a three-lap buffer over the AMR Aston in fifth place - in effect having ten minutes to play with here to ensure the car returns to the track in tip-top condition.
12h53m In GT1, the gap between the leading #63 Corvette and the challenging sister car, #64, is clocked at 1m12s.

They are four laps ahead of the other remaining Luc Alphand Aventures Corvette.

Jetalliance Racing continue to persevere with their Aston Martin but are well behind after several problems over the first half of the race.
12h52m The GT2 battle is clearly in Ferrari's hands at the moment. The #82 Risi Competizione entry has been in charge for several hours now, slowly building up a lead over the #92 JMW Motorsport F340.

Mika Salo is at the wheel of the #82 currently, and has just been in for a stop. The gap to second place is more than one lap, with the BMS Scuderia Italia Ferrari in third place.

The Porsche challenge comes from fourth-placed Patrick Long in the IMSA Performance machine but he is two laps adrift.
12h46m Peugeot #7 has rejoined down in 11th position following that long stop to clear debris from the radiators.

All is not well however, as Pedro Lamy brings the car into the pits and it is garaged for a second time in 20 minutes.
12h43m The #6 Team LNT Ginetta-Zytek has been retired out on track by 17-year-old rookie Nigel Moore after technical trouble.
12h39m Peugeot #7 is finally out of the garage after a lengthy stop. It has fallen out of the top ten and into the clutches of the #008 Lola Aston-Martin.
12h39m The leading #9 Peugeot comes into the pits and it's a full house of changes this time round - fuel, tyres, and driver. Alex Wurz gets out of the car and Marc Gene hops aboard. He rolls down the pitlane and back onto the track with the lead intact.
12h35m The #8 Peugeot is in for a change of driver an tyres. That car was over two minutes ahead of the #1 but will be closer now as Sebastian Bourdais takes it back into battle.
12h32m The #7 Peugeot has been put up on jacks, and the Peugeot team look to be cleaning debris out of the car, but the stop is clearly longer than a quick service of the various air intakes.
12h29m Pedro Lamy brings the #7 Peugeot in to the pits and it goes back in to the garage. That car has been making progress through the field but that stop comes only half-way into the current stint.
12h26m Predictably, the #89 Farnbacher Racing Porsche is back in the pits for more tape to be applied on the damaged bodywork of that car.
12h26m It is a Peugeot one-two at Le Mans as the timing monitor confirms what we all knew - that the #8 Peugeot is now up into second place, following that long stop for the #1 Audi.

The gap between them is 1m57s and the German marque have got a real challenge on their hands now.
12h24m The #15 Kolles Audi and the #66 Jetalliance Aston Martin DBR have been involved in an alteracation at the Porsche curves.

The #66 was already well down the field in GT1 but the Christian Bakerud Kolles car is likely to have lost its tenth position in the standings.
12h23m Meanwhile, Lola-Aston Martin #007 is in the pits for work with Jan Charouz remaining at the wheel.
12h22m The #1 was in the pits for almost three minutes and will now be behind the #8 Peugeot.
12h21m It is a quick service in the #1 garage and the car is wheeled out and back in to the race.
12h20m The Sarrazin #8 Peugeot is getting closer and closer, and is set to take second place away from the #1 Audi.
12h20m The hand over to Dindo Capello is taking place within the #1 garage.
12h17m The #1 car is due in this lap at the end of Allan McNish's four-stint run in the car. He will hand over to Dindo Capello.
12h16m The gap between Allan McNish in second and Stephane Sarrazin in third had been hovering around the 60-second mark for the last few laps. Over the last couple of tours however, the Scotsman has pulled out all the stops in traffic and managed to extend that lead to 67 seconds, as the Audi team prepare for his next stop.
12h15m The #89 Farnbacher Racing has been involved in some kind of front-end impact. The crew have applied some tape to the problem and sent the car back on its way.
12h12m The #17 Pescarolo Peugeot 908 is brought in for a stop by Simon Pagenaud. He stays in the car and resumes still in fourth following routine service.
12h10m Timo Bernhard brings the #3 Audi in for a stop, from a lowly 44th place. The car has suffered various technical problems throughout the first 12 hours of the race, but has been running cleanly in recent laps.
12h05m The #7's nose change is complete and they resume after a slow stop.
12h05m The #7 Peugeot is in the pits and the team are looking to change the nose section on that car. Once again they struggle to release the catches and now that job is done, they are having difficulties putting the new nose in place.
12h04m Peugeot #9 leads at La Sarthe with Alex Wurz at the wheel. The Austrian is just over two minutes ahead of Allan McNish in the #1 Audi.

The #8 Peugeot is third - around one minute behind McNish, as Stephane Sarrazin continues chasing the Scotsman down, with the #17 Pescarolo Peugeot in fourth place.

Aston Martin are in fifth with the #007 entry. Behind it comes the first of the Kolles Audis in sixth and then the #7 Peugeot in seventh place.
12h00m It's three o'clock in Le Mans, marking the half way point in this epic race.
12h00m We've had a collision at the Dunlop Curve as the cars leave the start-finish area and off into the night for another tour.

The #84 Team Modena Ferrari has tangled with the #12 Courage-Oreca Judd. Roman Rusinov was at the wheel of the #84 at the time and was seen spinning wildly into the gravel with Pierre Ragues.

Neither car looks badly damaged and both should be able to return to the pits - once the ACO marshals have removed both cars out of the gravel trap.
11h59m The #009 Lola-Aston Martin continues to slide down the order and is now 31st, but looks ready to resume after a lengthy spell in the garage.
11h55m The leading #9 car comes into the pits for fuel only. Alex Wurz is going to continue in the car and he rejoins after an efficient stop.
11h54m The #4 Creation is back in the pits as the mechanics once again go to work making a suspension adjustment on that car.
