This is because it didn't complete the final lap fast enough. The rules state you must complete the final lap of the race in under six minutes to be classified. However, it is possible for stewards to consider exceptions in the case of "force majeure".
LMP1
The #5 Toyota has been listed as not classified on the timing screens.
LMP1
Nakajima takes the chequered flag, but that final lap was almost 12 minutes.
LMP1
Nakajima is in the final sector of the lap but has still yet to finish.

LMP1
Even if Nakajima cannot complete the lap in the cutoff time, there are circumstances where force majeure can be taken into account. Nakajima is still trying to get the car round.
LMP1
The #5 Toyota is currently rolling - but can it complete the final lap fast enough to be classified?
LMP1
The jubilation in the Porsche pit is a cruel counterpoint to the devastation in the Toyota garage.
LMP1
Nobody here at Le Mans can quite believe what has happened here. Toyota was just a lap away from winning...

Checkered flag
And Ford WINS on its Le Mans return! Muller, Bourdais and Hand do it for the American manufacturer.
LMP2
Lapierre crosses the line to win LMP2 for Signatech Alpine. His second class win here in as many years.
Checkered flag
Porsche wins the 2016 Le Mans 24 Hours in the most dramatic and heartbreaking circumstances! This race was Toyota's until just a few minutes ago.
GTE PRO
If you're still aware of the other classes...the Risi Ferrari isn't serving its stop-go penalty. It wants the honour of being on the podium even if it'll get taken away.
LMP1
Here comes Jani in the #2 Porsche...
Twitter
LMP1
As Jani enters the Porsche curves, the Toyota limps away again.
Slow Zone
As a result of Rao's crash, there will be a slow zone implemented through the Porsche Curves.
Yellow flag
Replays show that Rao was not exactly travelling quickly when the front bodywork popped - for want of a better term - and got under the front wheels. He was a passenger from there, heading straight into the wall. The car was 14th in the class order, 19 laps down.
GTE PRO
Hand's lead is back up to 5s. This has been an effective if not race-defining stint.
Crash
Next time the Manor appears on screen it has front end damage, and then ploughs into the wall at Porsche Curves. Looks like the team's Le Mans debut is over.
LMP2
Rao in the Manor is off the road at Indianapolis. Looks like he has sought out the run-off rather than arriving there by accident. A yellow flag was shown and removed, and Rao has rejoined the action.

Jarvis rejoins in the #8 Audi after losing 39 minutes to that brake disc change. He's still fourth, but now just one lap ahead of Lotterer in the sister #7 car.
GTE PRO
Hand may have hit traffic – suddenly his lead over Vilander is down to 4.2s.
Crash
Kobayashi has spun into the gravel at the Porsche Curves in the third-placed Toyota. Fortunately, he managed to get going but he has lost 27 seconds.
GTE AM
GTE Am order: #62 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari; #88 Abu Dhabi-Proton Racing Porsche; #83 AF Corse Ferrari; #61 Clearwater Racing Ferrari; #86 Gulf Racigng Porsche; #60 Formula Racing Ferrari; #98 Aston Martin; #55 AF Corse Ferrari; #99 Aston Martin; #50 Larbre Competition Chevrolet; #57 AAI Chevrolet; #78 KCMG Porsche; #89 Proton Competition Porsche (stopped).

Information
The Michael Shank Racing entry has been handed a drive-through penalty for Pew's error that led to him collecting Krohn at the Mulsanne chicane last hour.
GTE PRO
Vilander's not been able to do anything about Hand. He's 7.3s down and they are lapping pretty much the same.
LMP1
Davidson is now pulling away from Lieb. The gap is now 19s.
Autosport
Here's the hour 20 recap. Less than four to go, and hopefully much more of what we have seen from Toyota and Porsche:

LMP1
The gap from Lieb back to Kobayashi is 7.082s.
GTE AM
Long is now back up to second in GTE Am having got by Aguas, but his #88 Porsche is back to being a lap behind class leader Townsend Bell (#62 Scuderia Corsa).
LMP1
Davidson leads by 15 seconds now, much more than he did before pitting, when Lieb was on his tail. The gap created by that slowzone is not a game-changer at this stage, but it offers Toyota some breathing space in a captivating battle that has gone on all morning.
Green flag
The slowzone is removed - we'll let the timing screens shake out but it looks like the #5 Toyota has benefitted a little bit from that delaying its rivals.
Pit stop
Sure enough, Davidson comes in. Could the slow zone at the first Mulsanne Chicane - which he didn't have to deal with on this inlap thanks to some fortunate timing - work in his favour?
Pit stop
We've had fuel-only stops for the #2 Porsche and the #6 Toyota, with the race-leading #5 car due in this time around.
Slow Zone
Patterson has put the #57 AAI Chevrolet in the barriers on the outside of the first Mulsanne chicane.
