Scott Dixon gets Stone Brothers Surfers Paradise V8 seat

Former IndyCar champion Scott Dixon is the latest big name to confirm that he will contest V8 Supercars' international guest event in Surfers Paradise in October

The 21-23 October meeting sees the V8 drivers share their cars with star drivers from elsewhere in worldwide motorsport, and for his second appearance Dixon will switch from 2010 team Kelly Racing to Stone Brothers Ford, joining fellow Kiwi Shane van Gisbergen in one of the SBR Fords.

"It is going to be like the Kiwi Super team with me driving with Shane in a car prepared by the Stone Brothers," said Dixon.

"[Team owners] Ross and Jimmy [Stone] are obviously racing heroes in NZ and it is going to be pretty cool to drive for them.

"I enjoyed my first outing in a V8 Supercar with the Kelly boys last year and being part of an all-Kiwi assault will add even a bit more spice."

Dixon's participation is not completely certain as his wife is due to give birth near the time of the race.

"My wife Emma is due to have our second baby that week and it took a while for me to make up my mind to come, but she was insistent that I come back and race with Ross and Jimmy," said Dixon.

"We have a back-up plan and another driver on standby if we have any issues and Ross and Jimmy are prepared if we have any drama."
