Tom Kristensen joins Race of Champions line-up

The 44-year-old Dane, who has won the Le Mans 24 Hours a record eight times, and secured five victories at the Sebring 12 Hours, will take part in the individual event as well as partnering Mattias Ekstrom in Team Scandinavia in the Nations' Cup.

"The Race of Champions is a great event: that's why I keep coming back," said Kristensen. "And I always enjoy partnering Mattias in the Nations' Cup too: we don't usually compete against such a wide range of opponents in our normal professional life so to have a chance to race against such talented drivers is fantastic.

"What's particularly nice is to see everyone enjoying themselves off the track. It's also fun to jump in and out of different fast cars in front of such an enthusiastic public. You can really hear them in the cockpit over the noise of the engines."

Kristensen has never won the RoC, but did make the final of the event in Paris in 2005. He and Ekstrom won the Nations' Cup the same year, and also made the final in London in 2008.

This year's RoC takes place at the ESPRIT Arena in Dusseldorf on December 4, with the Nations' Cup the day before.
