Lamborghini World Finals: Race two Pro pole for Rik Breukers

Rik Breukers claimed a last-gasp pole position for the second Pro and Pro-Am race of the Lamborghini World Finals at Imola

Raphael Abbate looked to have pole sewn up with his lap of 1m41.048s, but Breukers crossed the line with less than 60 seconds of the 20 minute session remaining to take first place by 0.045s.

Breukers, sharing with Axcil Jefferies, was not challenged in the final moments as Abbate could not respond on his final lap.

Jonathan Cecotto was third, 0.092s off pole, but his session came to an early end with just over a minute remaining when he stopped at Variante Alta.

Patrick Kujala was fourth fastest ahead of Super Trofeo Europe champion Mikael Grenier, with less than two-tenths covering the top five.

Nicolas Costa, who was briefly fastest early in the session, was sixth quickest and just ahead of the leading Super Trofeo North America runner, Trent Hindman.

Toby Sowery was the best of the Super Trofeo Asia drivers in eighth place, less than a tenth ahead of Asia Pro champion Afiq Yazid.

Jack Bartholomew grabbed the last place in the top 10 with just 15 seconds of the session remaining, relegating Jan Kisiel to 11th place ahead of Katherine Legge.

In the Pro-Am class, Taylor Proto made it two pole positions in 16th place, 2.169s off the outright pace.

Just half-a-tenth behind was Asia series regular Maxx Ebenal, with Emmanuel Anassis third and a further seven-thousandths behind.
