Martinsville: Busch takes second win
Kurt Busch took his second NASCAR Winston Cup victory with a stunning charge from 36th on the grid to win the Old Dominion 500, the 32nd round of the championship. The Roush Racing Ford driver withstood pressure from eventual second place man Johnny Benson to add this race to his victory at Bristol earlier this year
Busch recovered from a spin shortly before half-distance and lost several positions, but kept his head and worked his way back up to the front of the field. Following the final round of pit-stops, Busch ran third behind leader Ricky Craven and Benson.
Benson soon passed Craven for the lead, followed soon after by Busch, and with ten laps to go Busch overtook Benson for first place. The pair battled hard over the final laps, but Benson was unable to find a way back past the leader.
Ricky Rudd took third place, ahead of last race winner Dale Earnhardt Jr and Ward Burton, while Craven slid down to finish seventh behind points leader Jimmie Johsnon.
