Gilliland takes shock Busch win
NASCAR Busch rookie David Gilliland scored a shock maiden win in Saturday night's Meijer 300 presented by Oreo at Kentucky Speedway
In only his seventh start in the Busch series, Gilliland recovered from a slow pit stop early in the race to make his way back through the field and take the lead on lap 190 from JJ Yeley.
Yeley held on to second while last weekend's rookie Nextel Cup winner Denny Hamlin finished third.
Prior to Saturday night's race, Gilliland's best finish was 29th place.
The race featured several early yellows, and was red-flagged just after lap 30 when Jeff Fuller hit the inside wall hard while avoiding the spun car of Jason Leffler.
Fuller was cut out of the car, though thankfully it appears smoke inhalation is the worst problem he is suffering from, considering the angle and speed he hit the wall.
Carl Edwards, who started second, had a transmission break at the start, finishing 36th after repairs, while Kevin Harvick spun on lap one but recovered to finish sixth as he consolidated his place at the top of the standings.
