Edwards wins Lowe's Busch
Carl Edwards won Saturday night's Carquest Auto Parts 300 at Lowe's Motor Speedway
Edwards took the win after Casey Mears' engine coughed at the final restart with six laps remaining, allowing Edwards to sweep around Mears into the lead, which Edwards extended to the finish.
Kurt Busch finished second, ahead of JJ Yeley, while Mears recovered from his low fuel problems to finish fourth, though the speed he had shown before the final restart still didn't seem to be quite there.
A seventh place finish for Kevin Harvick continues his strong run of finishes this year, as he remains clearly at the top of the points standing. Edwards' win moved him up to second, as a late-race crash dropped Clint Bowyer a place to third.
Two drivers made unexpected early exits from the race, Jamie McMurray out after two laps when he crashed while leading, with Tony Stewart out after 10 laps. Both crashes may have been as a result of a problem with the car, rather than driver error, however.
