Busch hints at Gibbs Racing switch

Kyle Busch all but confirmed he is moving to Joe Gibbs Racing next year to team up with Tony Stewart and Denny Hamlin

Speaking at Watkins Glen, Busch spoke about his decision to go to Gibbs next season, confirming recent rumors that he would replace JJ Yeley in the No 18 car.

He stated money wasn't the deciding factor on his move.

"I said money from the begining wasn't it, I said it's competition," Busch told reporters at Watkins Glen.

"I guess the rumor has it where I'm going (next year). You look at their competition compared with Hendrick Motorsports and you know, they're right there."

Busch also commented on recent speculation linking Joe Gibbs Racing to a move to Toyota next year. He didn't confirm however whether the team have already made the decision to switch or not.

"I think they're going to do everything in their best interest that they feel is right, and if they feel like Chevrolet is their manufacturer of choice, then more power to them; if they feel like Ford, Toyota or Dodge are their best interest, then more power to them, you know," Busch added.

"They've got their own engine program, but they've got a lot of great resources, but I think they're still in that decision making process, they're looking at all the cards and laying them out.  Just as I would to pick a team they're doing it for a manufacturer."

Joe Gibbs racing are apparently waiting to put sponsors in place for Busch's team for next year before officially announcing the deal.

Kyle Busch will leave Hendrick Motorsports at the end of the year, where Dale Earnhardt Jr will replace him. He is currently eighth in the Nextel Cup standings with one victory to his name at Bristol in the first Car of Tomorrow event of the year.
