Robert Doornbos will return to Superleague Formula this season with Brazilian side Corinthians, after his plans to return for a second season of IndyCar fell through.
The 28-year-old Dutchman won twice and finished second three times for AC Milan in Superleague last season, and has transferred to Corinthians for 2010.
The former grand prix raced for Newman/Haas/Lanigan and HVM in IndyCar last year and is still hoping to return to the series in the future.
"After evaluating many options for 2010, I decided to accept the offer from Azerti Racing for Corinthians.
"After one year in the USA, I want to win races again. I'd like to state that my adventure in the USA is not over yet. But Superleague is very competitive with many ex-F1 drivers, I am really excited by this opportunity and look forward to the first race in two weeks time."
Azerti team manager Wim Coekelbergs added: "I'm very happy to have Robert. We will do everything we can to come up with great results for Corinthians."
