Marinescu claims second F2 win of 2012 with lights-to-flag run at Brands Hatch

Polesitter Mihai Marinescu took his second win of the season with victory in the second Formula 2 race at Brands Hatch

After making a great getaway the Romanian led all the way from Swiss Christopher Zanella. Brit Dino Zamparelli completed the podium with his first F2 top-three finish.

Race one winner Kevin Mirocha finished in fourth after another great start. Markus Pommer finished fifth, inheriting the place when 15-year-old Matheo Tuscher ended his race in the crash barriers at Paddock Hill Bend, bringing out the safety car as a result.

Championship leader Luciano Bacheta gained two places from his disappointing starting spot to finish sixth. Zanella has retaken second in points following Tuscher's retirement.

In a race of little incident, Plamen Kralev had a sizeable shunt at Hawthorns as he battled with birthday boy Hector Hurst. Max Snegirev went out in similar fashion during the closing stages.
