Suzuki buoyant ahead of Indianapolis

Suzuki introduced a new engine in the Czech Republic which both riders described as a step forward, and allowed Capirossi to take a fighting fifth place.

"We had an encouraging performance at Brno and also discovered a few things during the test on the Monday that will improve things for the rest of the season," added the Italian, who is believed to be staying with the team for another season in 2010.

"I am going to America in a very positive frame of mind and determined to fight for everything we can for the rest of the year."

Vermeulen struggled in Brno and was disappointed not to have been able to make the most of the new unit.

The Australian is set to be replaced by 250cc championship contender Alvaro Bautista in 2010, and needs a strong result at Indianapolis to convince Tech 3 that he is the man they should put in place of James Toseland.

Vermeulen reckons that he should be more competitive with the new engine this weekend: "We made a big step with bike at Brno in the last GP and although the result wasn't what we wanted, we certainly have a clear indication of how the new engine will work in the remaining races.

"We need to be on the pace as quick as possible at Indy and see what we can do."
