Stoner praises perfect package

Turkish Grand Prix winner Casey Stoner credited Ducati and tyre supplier Bridgestone for his dominant Istanbul victory

The Australian now leads the MotoGP championship by 10 points after winning two of the first three races of 2007.

"We could not have asked for a better start to the season, this is by far the best season I have had - it doesn't compare to anything," Stoner told BBC television.

"The Ducati and Bridgestones are making my life easy."

Stoner moved from fourth to first on the opening lap, taking the lead when polesitter Valentino Rossi ran wide.

He proceeded to pull away from the field and eventually won by six seconds.

"It was a little strange because I was really focused on getting through the first few laps and not getting shuffled back like in Jerez," Stoner added in the post-race press conference.

"I got past Colin quite early and then Rossi ran wide at the fast right hander and gifted me the first position.

"I put my head down, got a bit of a break and built it from there.

"With the Ducati and Bridgestone working so well I couldn't do anything wrong today."
