Stoner fastest in Le Mans warm-up

Casey Stoner confirmed his and his Ducati's good form this morning by topping the timesheets in the warm-up for this afternoon's French MotoGP in Le Mans

The 25-minute session at the Bugatti circuit saw the Australian rider setting a time of 1:35.286, 64 thousandths of a second faster than Rizla Suzuki's John Hopkins.

Behind these two riders on Bridgestone rubber, the top Michelin entry was Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa in third, a further tenth behind Hopkins.

Fourth fastest was Alex Barros on Pramac d'Antin Ducati, followed by Randy de Puniet on Kawasaki and Honda Cecchinello's Carlo Checa.

Sylvain Guintoli on Tech 3 Yamaha was seventh fastest, just ahead of Marco Melandri on Honda Gresini and Chris Vermulen on the works Suzuki.

Tenth fastest was Toni Elias on Honda Gresini, followed by Valentino Rossi on Fiat Yamaha, Loris Capirossi on Marlboro Ducati, pole-setter Colin Edwards on the other works Yamaha, and Nicky Hayden on the works Honda.
