Melandri downbeat after Jerez test
Marco Melandri has admitted he is still not nearer getting himself comfortable on the Ducati Marlboro bike after another frustrating test outing at Jerez in Spain
The Italian failed to get anywhere near the times set by teammate Casey Stoner over the three-day official MotoGP test, and confessed at the end that he was falling short of his own expectations.
"I can't deny that I was hoping to do better here but the continual changes in weather and track conditions haven't helped," said Melandri, who now has just one test left to get himself sorted on the bike before the start of the season in Qatar.
"At the moment we're struggling to find a good balance for the rear of the bike so I don't have the confidence to make the most out of the power. This circuit in particular is also probably not the most favourable for us but we still have to improve.
"Hopefully we can do that in Qatar, where a night test will provide something of the unknown for everybody."
