Hopkins just worrying about racing
John Hopkins has said that he is trying to ignore talk about his future as he focuses on this weekend's British Grand Prix at Donington
The 24-year-old has been linked with a move away from Suzuki for next year, but he admitted that he is not getting too involved in the discussions at the moment.
"The managers are having meetings and I am worrying about this weekend," he said. "It's looking bright so far so we just have to keep on that path.
"At the moment I am just worrying about this weekend and next weekend, and I just want to get myself on a bike where I can go out and win the world championship next year."
Hopkins has also been linked to a new deal with Suzuki though, as the team have performed well so far this season with their new 800cc bike.
"I am pretty confident within myself that I can run with the lead group at every race," he said. "We just have to keep it up on the top three steps.
"I had expected it going into the 800 era, as Suzuki put a lot of development into it when we were still on the 990. We have been working really hard and Bridgestone have been unbelievable."
Hopkins is currently sixth in the MotoGP standings, although he is on the same number of points as his teammate Chris Vermeulen in fifth.
