Dani Pedrosa remains dominant through second practice at Brno

The Spaniard couldn't quite match the 1m56.3s he managed in the morning session, but Pedrosa's lap of 1m56.454s was still enough to establish a sense of dominance over the rest of the pack.

Not only was Pedrosa one of just two men to crack the 1m56s barrier in either session, he managed it on several occasions. Indeed his final laps of the session were a string of improving times that moved him ever further away from the field.

The other rider in the 1m56s was Pedrosa's factory Honda team-mate Casey Stoner - who finally worked down to a 1m56.831s. But the Australian was nowhere near Pedrosa's consistent pace for much of the day.

In fact the world championship leader appeared to be struggling with the handling on his RC212V and had a massive wobble early in the session.

Marco Simoncelli, like he was in the morning session, went third quickest on the Gresini-run factory Honda, ahead of Jorge Lorenzo.

Yamaha's world champion had a quiet session as he went about working on his race pace - only Pedrosa was consistently faster lap-on-lap.

Andrea Dovizioso was fifth ahead of Ben Spies, while Valentino Rossi put in a breathless lap late-on to go seventh. The Italian was still 1.2s away from Pedrosa though.

Alvaro Bautista finally put Suzuki team-mate Jon Hopkins in his place to go eighth fastest overall, the two Suzukis split by hundredths - and Cal Crutchlow's ninth-placed Tech 3 Yamaha.

Both sessions proved relatively trouble-free and in P2 the only faller was Randy de Puniet, who crashed his Pramac Ducati at Turn 9 - though he appeared unscathed.
