Marc Marquez crashes twice in final Honda MotoGP test of 2015

Marc Marquez crashed twice during Honda's final day of 2015 MotoGP testing at Jerez, including a high-side accident from which he emerged unscathed

The Spaniard and works Honda team-mate Dani Pedrosa were completing the team's final test of the year, spending the third and final day carrying out a last back-to-back comparison of the 2015 and '16 engines.

Marquez suffered his high-side crash at the Turn 3 left-hander, while he also lost the front end at Turn 1.

"Today I had two big crashes," said Marquez. "Luckily I was OK.

"In Turn 3, I entered the corner on the gas with consistent power but suddenly the rear wheel became very aggressive and it launched me.

"The second crash happened whilst I was doing an engine comparison as you must be on the limit to get the best feedback.

"The brake point with the [new for 2016] Michelin tyres can sometimes be unpredictable."

Marquez added he was looking forward to seeing how much progress Honda can make over the winter before the riders return to testing in February at Sepang.

"We had a good three days and got a lot of information which we will now give to HRC," he said.

"My feeling is that we have a little more potential with the new engine compared to the old one, but we're still not at the level I'd like.

"I know Honda will work hard over the winter to improve everything for Sepang."

Pedrosa added: "It's still not clear about the engine as we're having some issues and we're not sure if it's due to the engine or the new electronics [for 2016].

"In any case, we must work with these electronics so we have to find the best compromise.

"At the moment we have a lot of information but it's not apparent which is a better fit."

Ducati was also in action at Jerez this week, with Andrea Dovizioso and Andrea Iannone focusing on running the 2016 tyres and electronics on their 2015 bikes.
