125cc: Talmacsi retains Sachsenring pole

Reigning champion Gabor Talmacsi retained pole position in the second qualifying session for the 125cc German Grand Prix

With five minutes of the half-hour session left, the Hungarian beat his provisional pole time of 1:27.623 with a 1:27.552 lap, and by the end of the running he remained the only one to improve on yesterday's pole.

The first riders to improve on their own best times set yesterday were Joan Olive and Bradley Smith, who did so after ten minutes had already gone by.

With around 12 minutes of the session left, as Mike di Meglio also started improving on his own time, Talmacsi shot to the top of today's timesheets, but still 0.074 slower than yesterday.

In the last ten minutes most riders managed to improve, and curiously yesterday's top five riders maintained their positions today, with Smith in second, less than one tenth behind Talmacsi, followed by Stefan Bradl, Simone Corsi, and Olive.

Championship leader di Meglio qualified sixth, ahead of Tomoyoshi Koyama, Raffaele de Rosa, Simone Cortese, and Esteve Rabat.
