Moto2: De Angelis stays with JiR in Moto2
Former MotoGP rider Alex de Angelis will stay on in Moto2 with the JiR team for 2011
The 26-year-old Italian joined JiR for the final part of this season, having lost his previous ride with the Scot team, and won at Phillip Island. De Angelis had also briefly returned to MotoGP in the middle of the year to deputise for the injured Hiroshi Aoyama at Interwetten Honda, but has committed to the feeder category again for next year, when he will again use a Motobi chassis.
Team boss Luca Montiron pointed out that de Angelis had been the most successful rider of the last few Moto2 races after joining JiR.
"This first season in Moto2 has been positive, although Alex joined us only at the end of the season he'd been the rider that collected the biggest amount of points in the last five races, which is a positive mark for next year," Montiron said.
"Of course I'm happy for the agreement that we have found with Alex, he is a competitive rider and also a guy who aims to improve himself and grow together with our project."
